Hopefully this will help science advance and allay the concerns of those who think human life begins at conception. (Click on link to read article.) Altho there is much more research to be done and techniques to develop, this has the potential to help cure disease, grow new tissues, etc., and save lives. For a while yet, there will probably be research on both paths, embryonic and this new method of creating stem cells, until it is certain that the new method works as well as using embryonic stem cells.
You all know my thoughts already - I had no problem w/ embryonic stem cell research. Does this help those of you who were concerned about it?

Time once again to "chime in"!
There are two noteworthy items here that invite my response. First, where does human life begin?, and secondly, the assumption that science has now "created life" through the manipulation of adult stem cells.
When "science" can take the male human sperm, and the female egg of a human, combine them and come up with something other than a human baby, then I might consider changing my opinion that human life begins at conception. Believing that this could NEVER happen, I stand firm in my belief that human life begins at conception. Even gross manipulation of the cells and genetics produces "human" tissue as designed and created by God, not man!
This brings me to the second issue. Whether it be embryonic cells or other adult stem cells being manipulated to form tissues that may be helpful in dealing with diseases and health problems, it is still just messing around with a life structure that God created.
When "science" can create their own cell structures from nothing, then we can reconsider who is the creator and author of life. This brings to mind a joke that I once heard - funny, but true!
"After years of trial & error, and countless attempts to create life, a very intellegent scientist finally did acomplish the task. He touted God, and told Him that he could create life. God asked him to show him what he had done, and the scientist gladdly accepted the challenge.
The scientist took some of the soil from the ground, and was preparing a concoction to mix with the soil, when God said, wait a minute! I made the soils and the chemicals that you are going to use - Get Your Own Dirt!"
Science is all about proof! Not theory, not speculation, not concensus, but proof! They have yet to prove that God doesn't exist, and that he didn't do what He said he did! They can't even figure out what he did, let alone duplicate it! Evolution? - theory, Not Fact. The big bang? - theory, Not Fact. The complex structure of life as we know it boggles the greatest minds. Why try so hard to eliminate God (humanistic terminology - "intelligent design") as creator? What is "science" so afraid of?
